N Street Village supports women in Washington, D.C. experiencing homelessness by providing a wide range of services, housing, and advocacy in an atmosphere of dignity and respect. We are looking for dedicated professionals passionate about making a tangible difference in people's lives.
Position Overview :
As a Program Associate, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team providing essential services to women participating in N Street Village's programs at Bethany's Women Center, which includes the day center. You will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for the women we serve.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop positive rapport with clients through routine contact and communicationAssist with program setup, including preparing breakfast, lunch items, toiletries, laundry, and activity sheetsHelp close the program each day by cleaning and maintaining day program areasServe meals to clientsConduct program intake and initial health and wellness screeningsRespond to immediate client needs, de-escalate crisis situations, resolve conflicts, and enforce program rulesComplete necessary program documentation, including daily activity sheets, reports, and incident reportsSupport care coordination tasks such as referrals for services and residency formsReport serious incidents and sensitive program information to the Program ManagerCollaborate with volunteers and partner agencies providing services to the womenAttend program team meetings, staff meetings, and supervision meetings as requiredBuild and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, external partners, and stakeholdersParticipate in quality improvement activities to enhance program policies and client outcomesAdhere to N Street Village's policies and proceduresPerform other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree with 1 year of direct social services experience, orHigh School Diploma (or equivalent) with 2 years of direct social services experience, orHigh School Diploma (or equivalent) with 5 years of work experiencePreferred Qualifications :
Experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly those facing addiction and mental illnessFamiliarity with DC's Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)Knowledge of issues affecting homelessness and other vulnerable populationsUnderstanding of trauma-informed careCommitment to inclusivity, providing services without regard to race, religion, ability, sexual orientation, or gender identityExperience with, or willingness to learn, data visualization techniques and softwareSkills and Competencies :
