Position Overview:
N Street Village is seeking a Volunteer and In-Kind Gifts Manager to lead our dynamic Volunteer and In-Kind Gifts programs. As a key leader within the Development team, this role is responsible for strategically developing, implementing, and managing programs that connect volunteers and donors with our mission. The Manager will oversee program staff and interns, collaborate with senior leadership, and ensure that volunteer and in-kind contributions align with the organization’s goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement strategies to enhance volunteer and in-kind engagement in alignment with organizational goals.
Build and maintain long-term partnerships with corporate, community, and faith-based organizations to support volunteer and in-kind programs.
Lead planning and execution of large-scale in-kind drives in collaboration with program staff, ensuring alignment with client needs.
Represent N Street Village at external events and serve as the primary spokesperson for volunteer and in-kind initiatives.
Program Management:
Oversee the full life cycle of in-kind donations, including solicitation, acceptance, inventory management, distribution, and acknowledgment.
Conduct regular evaluations of volunteer programs and in-kind systems, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
Ensure accurate tracking of volunteer and in-kind activities in the donor CRM, maintaining data integrity.
Develop and execute annual volunteer recognition strategies, including events, communications, and acknowledgments.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor program staff and interns, providing regular feedback and conducting performance evaluations.
Train and support staff across departments on effective volunteer engagement and in-kind donation practices.
Develop training materials and onboarding processes for volunteers and staff supervising volunteers.
Community Engagement:
Lead outreach efforts to recruit and retain individual and group volunteers.
Deliver presentations and tours to interested groups and individuals while building relationships with corporations, churches, synagogues, and other community organizations.
Develop content for newsletters, blogs, and other communications to highlight volunteer and in-kind initiatives.
Operational Oversight:
Maintain regular communication with program sites to assess in-kind needs, manage inventory, and oversee donation distribution systems.
Collaborate with the Development team to secure and document in-kind goods for fundraising events, such as the annual Gala and Fall Community Walk.
Improve operational efficiency in in-kind storage, organization, and distribution processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience in volunteer engagement, program coordination, or fundraising.
or
Associate’s degree plus 4 years of experience in volunteer engagement or fundraising.
or
Six years of experience in volunteer engagement or fundraising with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
Demonstrated leadership experience in volunteer engagement, program management, or fundraising.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and CRM systems.
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to engage with diverse audiences and cultivate long-term relationships.
Physical ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
Valid driver’s license with willingness to drive a cargo van preferred.

Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
