Long-Term Care Nurse

Duration:26 Weeks initially (AUTO OFFER With strong possibility of extension)

Guaranteed Hours- 48 hour

Shift: 12 Hours Nights

Weekly Pay - $2000 - $2700 Weekly

Job Description:

• Accompany the physician during sick calls to examine inmates/residents.
• Prepare a list of inmates/residents for examination.
• Ensure examining room and equipment are prepared and ready for use.
• Oversee and manage pill call procedures.
• Dispense medications to inmates/residents as prescribed.
• Document medication dispensing as per applicable policies and procedures.
• Contact LIPs for medication and treatment orders, as well as for emergency situations.
• Provide timely updates and request orders as needed for inmates/residents' care.
• Assess new inmates/residents for illnesses or injuries.
• Monitor and evaluate inmates/residents who become ill or injured.
• Refer inmates/residents to the emergency room or other healthcare facilities based on their medical condition.
• Carry out emergency procedures as required for medical emergencies.
• Notify LIPs for treatment orders and support for emergency care.
• Coordinate with contract healthcare personnel:
• Assist in the coordination of professional medical services provided by contracted medical personnel.
• Ensure that the needs of contract medical staff are addressed to provide efficient healthcare services.
