About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Ultrasound Technologist to join our dynamic medical imaging team. This is a weekend program position at a 12-bed freestanding emergency department, where you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound imaging.
As a key team member, you will prioritize and coordinate ultrasound exams, collaborate with nursing units, radiologists, and referring physicians, and ensure patients receive the best care possible. Your technical expertise and patient-centered approach will contribute to accurate diagnoses and positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound imaging procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.
- Ensure proper examination verification, assess patient conditions, and adapt imaging techniques as needed.
- Assist radiologists during invasive ultrasound procedures.
- Evaluate technical quality of images and optimize imaging techniques for accuracy and efficiency.
- Operate ultrasound equipment proficiently, ensuring safety and optimal functionality.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and enter necessary data into the radiology system.
- Report malfunctioning equipment and ensure all imaging tools are in optimal working condition.
- Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized work area to enhance efficiency and patient care.
- Adhere to departmental regulations and professional best practices.
- Support a patient-centered care philosophy, ensuring compassionate and respectful interactions.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required:
- Graduate of a Medical Diagnostic Ultrasound program.
- ARDMS or ARRT (S) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (AHA or ARC).
- Strong patient care and interpersonal skills.
