We are a nurturing and vibrant Montessori school serving children ages 2 months to 6 years. Our mission is to create a peaceful and respectful learning environment that supports each child's natural development. We are looking for a dependable, motivated, and caring individual to join our team as a Classroom Assistant, supporting our guides and young learners across all age groups.
Position Overview:
The Classroom Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining a calm, safe, and joyful learning environment. This position requires flexibility, a growth mindset, and a collaborative spirit. You will work closely with lead guides and other team members to support daily classroom routines, care for the physical and emotional needs of children, and model respectful behavior.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the lead guide in preparing and maintaining the classroom environment
- Assist with daily activities, including work cycles, circle time, outdoor play, and transitions
- Provide care to children across age groups (2 months–6 years), including diapering and assisting with toilet training
- Follow established Montessori and school procedures to support children’s independence and development
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the classroom
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with children, staff, and families
- Attend and participate in required staff meetings, annual training, and ongoing professional development
- Be flexible and willing to help in different classrooms as needed
Qualifications:
- Comfortable working with all age groups, from infants to kindergarten
- Reliable, consistent, and professional work habits
- Positive attitude, team-oriented, and eager to learn
- Montessori experience is a plus, but not required
- Must obtain or be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification and a Food Handler’s Certificate
- Must complete required annual training hours as outlined by licensing and school policies
