Overview:
Nakupuna Federal is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in financial transformation and strategy to join our team of talented professionals supporting an The Army intends to right-size expenditure on audit resources in alignment with audit priorities, while simultaneously improving management and accountability of audit contracts. This position will support the stand up and oversight of a multi-award contract (MAC) focusing on audit. The ideal candidate can leverage industry best practices and federal government experience to drive operational efficiency and deliver cost reduction opportunities.
Responsibilities:

- Support the Audit Accountability and Cost Efficiency (AACE) Team to effectively establish and efficiently manage an audit-focused MAC.
- Collaborate with senior-level officials to gather requirements, set performance expectations, track progress, and ensure performance accountability.
- Assess and monitor vendor progress against benchmarks and contract milestones.
- Assist in contract management governance, including development of a governance charter and implementation.
- Apply technical understanding of government audit policies, standards, and practices to recommend enhancements to contract management.
- Serve as an agent of change for the customer by developing objective and innovative recommendations along with plans of action for execution.
- Support development and review of high quality deliverables.
- Proactively monitor for changes to industry and regulatory requirements, guidance, and instructions where appropriate.
- Serve as a SME and thought leader for audit, strategy, and business transformation projects across Nakupuna. Provide reach back and surge support for specific customer and project needs.
- Lead and develop go-to market strategies, proposals, and capability briefs for business opportunities across related Nakupuna service offerings.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Experience performing audit readiness services within the DoD.
- Knowledge of DoD Financial Management Regulations, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICOFR), OMB Circular A-123, and other audit-related policies and standards.
- Familiarity with current trends in enhancing compliance with accounting and auditing standards within an Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP).
- Knowledge of DoD and Army organizational structure.
- Exceptional communication skills. Ability to work with different stakeholders and devise innovative solutions for customer challenges.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-paced, and at times stressful environment.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Education/Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related degree required.
- Prior experience in public accounting and/or DoD financial management or acquisition.
- of relevant work experience.
Clearance Requirements: Ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.
Work Location: Nakupuna Office in Arlington, VA, with meetings in the Pentagon and/or Taylor building.
