Boutique Encino law firm seeking to immediately hire a full-time bilingual (English and Spanish) litigation paralegal with substantial labor and employment law experience to join their team.
The firm is a growing employment and personal injury firm specializing in quality legal services with a mid to heavy case load of single Plaintiff employment and personal injury matters. This is for an immediate opening for a full-time bi-lingual litigation paralegal to assist with various substantive and administrative duties and responsibilities from intake to settlement, including pre-litigation and litigation if needed.

- Manage multiple cases from pre-litigation through litigation and trial
- Participate in initial client and witness interviews, investigations, fact analysis and conference calls as needed
- Collect documents/evidence from various sources, including from client, websites, or other avenues
- Analyze and organize documentary evidence, including preparation of chronologies, timelines, etc.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming calls, emails, and correspondence, managing communications on behalf of attorneys.
- Knowledge and handling of filing/e-filing procedures of legal documents in both federal and state courts, ensuring compliance with court requirements.
- Maintain, organize, and update case files, ensuring all documents are saved, properly categorized and filed in a timely manner, and sent to the attorney team, as necessary
- Manage, monitor, and track all deadlines, ensuring attorneys are fully appraised of all court appearances, hearings, depositions, and statutes
- Calendar all statues, dates, deadlines, including all dates triggered by notices, with use of calendaring and case management software
- Draft routine legal documents and pleadings such as: initial filings documents, case management statements, notices, posting of jury fees, motions, discovery requests, mediation briefs, and related legal documents.
- Fill out and timely file case initiation documents, including summons, complaints, civil case cover sheet, civil case cover sheet addendum, and any accompanying documents specific to other venues
- Timely serve all case documents, and prepare proof of service of summons for all completed services
- Track all filed case initiation documents and case information
- Prepare and update accurate service lists
- Prepare discovery shells for propounding or responding to discovery and/or for separate statements
- Respond to discovery, including working with Plaintiff to get that information
- Prepare, proofread, format, and finalize legal documents, including pleadings, discovery materials, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
- Draft first drafts of meet and confer letters
- Draft letters to clients, including mediation, deposition, distributing discovery, and attempts to contact
- Manage client interactions professionally, maintaining strict confidentiality and delivering exceptional client service.
- Conduct brief legal research, such as cite-checks on both federal and state court filings
- Review and process subpoenas, including compilation of personnel data/records and communication with requesting parties as needed.
- Schedule/coordinate depositions, court reporters, hearings, defense medical exams.
- Collect, organize, analyze and summarize records, including, among others: wage and hour records and creation of damages analyses, employment records, medical records, deposition testimony
- Supply factual support for statement of facts (reviewing declarations, depositions and documents)

Qualifications & Required Experience:
- Paralegal certificate preferred
- Minimum of 2-5 years’ law firm experience in the Litigation or Labor Practice Area required
