HS Track and Field Assistant Coach (Throwing Coach)

Naches Valley High School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to serve as the HS Track and Field Assistant Coach (Throwing Coach). This role involves coaching, mentoring, and inspiring student-athletes to achieve their potential both on and off the field. The coach will plan and implement a comprehensive program that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for the game.

Key Responsibilities

Practice and Game Management

Plan, organize, and lead engaging and effective practices to develop players' technical, tactical, and physical skills.

Attend and supervise all games, practices, and team events.

Develop game strategies, make in-game adjustments, and ensure all players have opportunities to contribute.

Player Development

Foster sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect among players.

Encourage academic performance and prioritize the balance between athletics and academics.

Safety and Compliance

Ensure the safety of all athletes by maintaining a safe playing environment and following all district and league safety protocols.

Promote and enforce adherence to school and league rules, policies, and expectations.

Communicate any injuries or incidents promptly to the necessary parties.

Program Leadership

Serve as a role model and mentor for student-athletes and assistant coaches.

Communicate effectively with parents, students, and school staff about schedules, expectations, and team progress.

Coordinate with the athletic director to ensure proper scheduling, transportation, and equipment needs.

Team Culture

Build a positive, inclusive team environment that encourages personal growth and team success.

Promote school spirit and represent the school with pride and integrity.

Qualifications

Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Ability to motivate and develop young athletes in a positive manner.

CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).

Must pass all required background checks and fulfill school district requirements for coaches.

Working Conditions

Practices and games occur on the weekdays but will require some evenings

Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.

Physical ability to demonstrate skills and participate in drills.

Salary : $4,197
