Maintenance and Repair Tech / Chemical Plant Operator - Nachurs Alpine Solutions (St. Gabriel, LA)

NACHURS ALPINE SOLUTIONS is seeking a Chemical Operator for its Red Oak, Iowa location. The Chemical Operator is responsible for taking daily inventory, completing daily production, and unloading raw materials.

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of maintenance tasks to support maintenance, material handling, and production as well as perform facility maintenance.

Job Responsibilities:

• Learns and performs general maintenance and repair duties on a variety of equipment, machines, and facility systems
• Operates hand and power tools and mechanical equipment effectively and safely complies with safety requirements including the use of appropriate PPE
• Works under general supervision and seeks assistance from higher-level technicians when necessary in order to complete work with the highest level of safety and quality
• Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
• Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations such as lockout/tagout
• Complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Able to walk, stand, climb, and stoop for extended lengths of time
• Must be able to climb and be comfortable with heights (ex. Spray Dryer= 150 ft.)
• Able to tolerate temperature extremes up to 110*F in production and outside on hot days and cold outside temperatures during the winter
• Outside work in all weather elements

Education & Exprience:

• High school Diploma
• Strong safety work ethic
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and must work as part of a team
• Ability to analyze problems, recommends solutions, and initiates repairs
• Strong safety work ethic
