Job Summary:
We are looking for an enthusiastic Junior High English Language Teacher to provide engaging and effective instruction to our students and our teachers. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of the English language, excellent communication skills, and a passion for teaching. As an English Language Arts Teacher at Naco Elementary, you will play a vital role in helping students develop their language skills.
Curriculum Planning and Implementation:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive and challenging ELA curriculum aligned with state and district standards.
- Plan and deliver well-structured lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Utilize various instructional strategies, resources, and technology to enhance student understanding of ELA concepts.
Classroom Management:
- Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Implement effective behavior management strategies to ensure a respectful and focused learning atmosphere.
- Foster a sense of community and collaboration among students.
Assessment and Feedback:
- Design and administer assessments to measure student progress and mastery of ELA concepts.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their performance.
- Analyze assessment data to adjust instructional strategies and differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs.
Parent and Community Engagement:
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic achievements.
- Conduct parent-teacher conferences to discuss individual student performance and development.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and community members to enhance the overall educational experience.
Professional Development:
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay informed about current educational trends, methodologies, and technology.
- Engage in collaborative planning and professional learning communities to enhance teaching practices.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant information.
- Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner.
School Culture and Professionalism:
- Uphold and model high standards of professional conduct and ethics.
- Actively contribute to a positive and collaborative school culture.
- Attend staff meetings, in-service training, and other school events as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Education, or a related field Bilingual Education, English as a Second Language(ESL), Structured English Immersion (SEI)
- Proven experience in teaching English as a second language.
- Strong command of the English language, including grammar and pronunciation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience and a passion for teaching.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students.
- Tech-savvy with experience using educational technology and online teaching platforms.
