Position Purpose:
The Director of Human Resources is accountable for operations oversight of the organizations human resources department. This position organizes, manages and executes all aspects of the benefits, wage, and salary, compensation, employment, recruitment, and employee relation functions. The position also provides input into organization policies and procedures for employee related needs as well as adherence to regulatory requirements.
Summary of Duties (not all inclusive)
- Work with hospital’s Senior Management Team (SMT) to provide input on issues related to the operational needs for attracting and motivating a dynamic, diverse and competent work force
- Facilitate the development of programs and solutions to help support and respond to business needs related to Human Resources
- Analyzes employee data metrics (turnover, exit interviews, etc.)
- Ensures department(s) meet requirements of JCAHO standards to include area(s) of responsibility and those of staff
- Establishes and maintains Departmental policies and procedures with requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies
- Follow proper management procedures in counseling and terminations ensuring compliance with applicable ADA and EEOC guidelines
- Evaluates trends in areas of Human Resources and makes recommendations to hospital Administration as appropriate
- Develops and administers employee benefit plans to include time off, FMLA, worker's compensation insurance, health insurance, long term disability insurance, life insurance, COBRA, 125 plan, compensation, tuition reimbursement, continuing education, service awards, tax-sheltered annuities, retirement, etc. Evaluates programs regularly and recommends changes appropriate
- Oversees wage and salary program taking into account survey and market data and in-house equity. Evaluates structure annually to maintain competitiveness
- Ensures job descriptions and evaluations are maintained for all positions in the hospital. Reviews and revises as requested or as necessary

Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree (required)
- Five (5) years experience minimum in Healthcare (required)
- Knowledge of Business Management, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Wage and Hour Administration, American Disabilities Act, Health Insurance, and Workers Compensation Law (required)
- Skilled in mediation, counseling, and computer operation (required)
- Ability to speak clearly, write clearly and legibly, understand the written and spoken English language (required)
