Position Summary
Operate institutional laundry washers and dryers to produce clean, sterile linens for the Hospital. Perform a variety of tasks related to the preparation, processing, delivery and inventory of linens and related Hospital articles supplied by the Environmental Services Department.
Position Duties (Not all Inclusive)
- Sorts, weighs, washes, and dries Hospital linen and laundry according to written operational procedures.
- Pre-wash heavily stained articles or pre-treat with stain removal agents.
- Loads articles into washing machines according to designated capacity, adds washing agents according to treatment techniques for the wash.
- Monitors equipment while in operation to ensure proper and safe functioning.
- Inspects wash for cleanliness at various stages of processing.
- Follow infection control procedures when handling clean linens.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently understand and follow oral and written instructions, performs strenuous work associated with operation of institutional washing and drying equipment, and works effectively with other staff members in the department

Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English required.
- Operating institutional laundry equipment experience preferred.
