What are the responsibilities and job description for the Echo Tech Per Diem Days position at Nacogdoches Medical Center?
POSITION SUMMARY: Performs a variety of non-invasive technical procedures in cardiac graphics utilizing high frequency sound waves to study movement and size of the various cardiac structures for the diagnosis of heart disorders. Responsible for examinations, and testing in the Non-Invasive Cardiology Lab to include routine echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, and transesophageal procedures under the direction of the physician.

Assists with TEE’s and stress testing, providing images that support the physician’s ability to diagnose patients appropriately. Identifies problems & implements appropriate interventions, including reporting critical values. Sets priorities for completion of studies based on acuity, patient preference and/or the coordination of care with nursing and other ancillary services. Provides EKG and Holter Services when Echo workload permits. Obtains EKGs that reflect appropriate lead placement, minimal artifact, and correct patient information. Set’s up and scans Holter Monitors, providing tracings that support the physician’s ability to diagnose patients appropriately.
Education:
Required: Graduate of accredited CAAHEP or diagnostic medical sonography school, or at least 6 months of clinical experience.
Experience:
Required: 6 months in clinical setting.
Preferred: 2 years.
Certifications:
Required: Registry eligible and AHA BLS.
Preferred: RDMS, RDCS, or RCS.
