As a Cable & Harness Assembler, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process by assembling and inspecting various types of cables used in electronics, telecommunications, aerospace, automotive, and other industries. Brining a minimum of 1 year experience in wire harness/cable assembly, along with heightened attention to detail, manual dexterity, and adherence to quality standards, will ensure that the finished products meet the specifications and requirements of our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize your expertise in wire harness and cable assembly to read and interpret assembly instructions, drawings, and specifications.
- Apply your experience in cutting, stripping, and preparing cable wires according to established protocol and guidelines.
- Leverage your skills in assembling cables by following the designated layout and connection methods.
- Attach connectors, terminals, and other components to cable ends, drawing from your experience with techniques like soldering, crimping, and heat-shrinking.
- Maintain assembly logs and reports, reflecting your commitment to detailed quality tracking.
- Collaborate seamlessly with team members, engineers, and supervisors, using your experience to address challenges and optimize assembly processes.
Quality Control:
- Utilize your background to meticulously inspect cable components and finished products, ensuring alignment with quality standards.
- Draw upon your experience to identify and rectify any discrepancies, defects, or inconsistencies in the assembly process.
- Perform tests to verify proper conductivity and signal integrity.
Equipment and Tool Operation:
- Apply your hands-on experience to proficiently operate and maintain tools and equipment such as wire strippers, soldering irons, crimping tools, and heat guns.
Preferred Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Required IPC/WHMA-A-620
- Preferred J-STD-001
- Preferred knowledge of AS-9100 quality management system.
- A minimum of one year's experience in wire harness/cable assembly within a manufacturing setting, involving tasks such as stripping, crimping, soldering, label printing, cable strapping/lacing, connector installation, wire harness testing, and RTV application.
- Familiarity with basic tools used in cable assembly, such as wire strippers, crimpers, and soldering irons.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and instructions.
- Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical concepts.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in a manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing assembly techniques and technologies.
