About the Family Based Recovery Program: 

We are currently seeking Clinicians to join our new Family Based Recovery team! Family Based Recovery (FBR) is an intensive, in-home clinical treatment program for families with infants/young children (birth to 72 months) who are at risk for maltreatment, adverse development outcomes, and removal from their home due to parental substance use. Clinicians work as part of a team with the overarching goal of the intervention is to promote stability, safety, and permanence for these families.

**Training will be provided by FBR model experts.

Clinician Core Functions: 

  • The clinical team provides intensive clinical psychotherapy and substance use treatment for the parent (s) and attachment-based parent-child therapy to the parent-child dyad.
  • Treatment and support services are provided in a family-focused, strength-based, trauma-based, culturally competent, and responsive to each child's individual needs. Clinicians provide direct services to clients meeting them in their homes, in schools or other settings which best meet the needs of the client/family.
  • Each clinician will serve as the parent-child clinician for six of the 12 families on a full caseload, and as the individual / substance abuse clinician for the other six of the 12 families. FBR Services will provide training in both components of the model to each clinician during the initial training. FBR Services will also provide ongoing training and support each clinician during weekly consultations and quarterly trainings.

Clinicians work as part of a clinical team to provide direct services which include but not limited to:

  • Conducts comprehensive clinical assessments.
  • Determines DSM V Diagnosis in consultation with Supervisor, Director or Psychiatrist, as needed to complete treatment plans and service contracts.
  • Implements treatment plans, modifying it as appropriate during the course of treatment.
  • Discharge planning, which may include linkages to community and support services.
  • Provides case management services.
  • Completes clinical documentation required by agency and program policies, HIPAA regulations, and funding sources
  • Rotating after-hours on-call.
  • Maintains utilization and productivity targets determined by program.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance.
  • Assist with family transportation needs and other program needs as appropriate.
  • Ability to communicate effectively using engagement strategies, Motivational Interviewing and other needed skills as required by evidenced based model.

The two (2) clinician roles are as follows:

Parent-child Clinician: The parent-child clinician will deliver interventions to facilitate positive parent-child interactions and optimal child development. The parent-child clinician’s main focus will be the parent’s relationship with the index child (age birth to 36 months) and the systems that interact with the index child. However, all children in the house will be assessed by the parent-child clinician for possible interventions and advocacy with systems (i.e. educational, medical, and legal).

Individual/Substance Abuse Clinician: The individual clinician will deliver interventions that target parental sobriety and psychological well-being. She/he will engage the client in discussions and treatment for any co-morbid mental health issues and co-constructs treatment goals for sobriety, education, employment, healthy relationships, family communication, and legal issues.

Qualifications/Requirements: 

  • Master’s in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Counseling.
  • Licensed or provisionally licensed (LMSW, LPC-A, LMFT-A).
  • Skilled in therapeutic interventions, advocacy, and crisis management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Effectively manage priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledgeable in cultural, gender, and trauma-responsive approaches.
  • Participate in supervision, training, and meetings.
  • Some evening hours required.
  • Organized and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Cultural competency to serve diverse populations.
  • Contribute to community initiatives for visibility and linkages.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with children, parents, and resources.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and electronic health records.

Starting salary: $70,000.00 per/ year
