  • Job Description:*Primary Responsibility

Under the general direction of the Campus Vice President or Campus Dean, the Associate Dean of Student Affairs is responsible for the delivery of services that provide support and guidance to students in accessing and successfully completing their academic goals. The Associate Dean collaborates with others throughout the College and community to promote unity and further the vision and mission of Colorado Mountain College.

Pre-requisites For Position (Qualifications Standards)

Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position. Examples include a Master’s Degree and four years of experience in a field within higher education student services, or a Bachelor’s degree and six years of experience, or equivalent education and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skill and abilities to perform the functions of the position.

Special Skills or abilities related to position: knowledge of current principles, practices, and trends in higher education student affairs programming, state and federal laws, regulations and codes governing same. Ability to facilitate cooperation through discussion and consensus-building, analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, effectively lead a large team of professionals, knowledge and experience in student adjudication, experience with residential campus facilities, problem solve and communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Hiring range = $102,793.41 - $114,214.90 annual salary depending upon a combination of education and experience. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Pet insurance, retirement contribution, tuition reimbursement, annual & sick time, mental health resources, healthy lifestyle benefits, affordable transitional housing may be available to the successful candidate based on eligibility and availability, relocation if applicable. CMC utilizes a wage progression compensation model that accounts for a candidate’s skill and experience. Although a salary range is listed, salary will be set commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

  • Minimum Qualifications:*Essential Duties
  • Provide campus leadership and direction in student success program development and refinement
  • Oversee Campus Student Personnel Service and Support functions
  • Ensure campus compliance with governmental and judicial regulations
  • Serve as a Deputy Title IX Compliance Officer
  • Administer the campus student judicial system
  • Actively participate on the college wide Student Affairs Leadership Team to share and learn compliance updates, collaborate on best practices and consistent systems college wide.
  • Administer Immigration and Naturalization Service requirements for international students
  • Assess student service success outcomes at campus level
  • Assist in maintenance and/or development of student-related handbooks
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervision Received

This position reports to a senior administrator.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position supervises staff.

Special Conditions of Employment

Successful completion of a background check including motor vehicles records report required. Incumbents in this position will adhere to all safety and compliance policies of Colorado Mountain College while performing all duties assigned. Travel, evenings, and weekends may be required at times.

Serve in the professional staff on-call rotation throughout the year to respond to emergencies and policy violations in the residence hall. Professional staff on-call must be available to take calls and come to campus quickly for the entirety of their on-call duration.

Working Conditions

This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally. Work is performed using a computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally.
