Lafayette College: Human Resources: Staff Positions: Enrollment Management
- Location:* Easton, PA
- Open Date:* Jan 23, 2025
Lafayette College, a highly selective, private liberal arts college of 2,700 undergraduates, located in the picturesque Lehigh Valley and the historic city of Easton, PA (just 75 minutes from both New York City and Philadelphia), plans to appoint an admissions professional to help lead the College's effort to recruit, select, and enroll new classes of students. Offering B.A. and B.S. degree programs in the liberal arts and engineering, Lafayette enjoys a distinctive reputation for having university-like resources within an intimate and increasingly dynamic and connected community. Lafayette is proud to be considered among the most compelling and successful colleges in the country. The successful candidate will play a key and active role in helping elevate Lafayette's presence on the national and international stage.
General responsibilities for this position include involvement in all aspects of in-person and virtual (online) recruitment work for assigned territories, such as representing the College at college fairs, high school visits (locally, nationally and/or internationally), conducting interviews and group information sessions with prospective students and families, evaluating admissions applications and recommending admission decisions, and developing and tending to relationships with students, parents/guardians and schools/community-based organization/independent counselors.
Job Duties/Essential Functions
- Specific responsibilities entail the development and implementation of an international student recruitment plan with direction from the Dean of Admissions that meets enrollment goals and complements the College's overall strategic plan.
- Employ data-driven strategies working in collaboration with the Director of Data Analytics to identify new international recruitment markets while increasing awareness and reach in existing primary markets for the college.
- Further cultivate partnerships with key constituents such as, but not limited to, secondary school officials, Education USA/AMIDEAST advisors, Independent Educational Advisors, Alumni Admissions Representatives, etc. in strategically identified local, national and global markets.
- Support new and existing partnerships, such as SHE-CAN, LIME, and Sutton Trust.
- Effectively leverage and implement the Slate Enrollment Management CRM to maximize recruitment and enrollment efforts.
- Knowledge of best practices in international student recruitment including SEVIS regulations and issues related to visa processing.
- Provide insights and recommendations regarding marketing campaigns to prospective international students interested in Lafayette College.
- Collaborate with campus partners from faculty to key administrative offices relating to international student recruitment, onboarding, and/or success such as the International Student Advising and Support Associate, Residential Life Director, and Registrar.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of international educational systems and credentials.
- Ability and demonstrated track-record of domestic and international student recruitment.
- Represent the College at relevant admissions related conferences, recruitment, and yield events.
- Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Admissions.
In addition to significant contact with external constituents, the professional in this role will serve on and potentially lead a number of internal teams that advance the larger enrollment division's cause as an energized and goal-oriented operation.
The successful candidate must hold a bachelor's degree and be willing to travel domestically and internationally. Extended hours during the academic year, including evenings and weekends (when necessary) are the norm. The team seeks a teammate with an appreciation for the power of a liberal arts education and who can effectively engage students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are expected, as well as the ability to work as part of a team and manage multiple projects concurrently. A high level of energy and an excitement for young people and their aspirations for college opportunities are critical components to being successful in this role.
