Part-time, Internship Description
NAFSA: Association of International Educators is the world’s largest association of professionals committed exclusively to advancing international education and exchange. The association provides professional development opportunities, promotes research and knowledge, and convenes conferences and collaborative dialogues.
Housed within the Leadership and Professional Development Services (LPDS) department, the International Enrollment Management and International Student and Scholar Services (IEM-ISSS) unit develops, delivers, and provides professional development programs, resources, and services to support the success of international educators. Specific to IEM, we support international education professionals working in admissions, recruitment, enrollment management, marketing, credential evaluation, English language programs, and sponsored program administration.
The intern will report to NAFSA’s Senior Impact Officer within the IEM-ISSS unit.
Spring 2025 Intern Projects (Mid-February Through Mid-May)
- Assist with developing, planning, and implementing resources and events for IEM community.
- Research, build, and curate scholarship-granting organizations database.
- Support online events (webinars, focus groups, meetings, etc.) for the international education community, including assisting with registration, promotion, and online logistics for the event.
- Research global mobility trends and issues.
- Review, update, organize, or edit existing web and print resource materials for strategic IEM.
- Assist with correspondence, by email or phone, and create tailored membership lists.
- Participate in department and unit meetings and, when needed, assist with organizing meeting materials.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented self-starter; proficient with Microsoft Office suite applications, especially Excel and Word; experienced with customer service; adept with Zoom and social media platforms; and have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills. Preferred candidates will have an interest in and/or knowledge of higher education, international education, international education research, and U.S. campus internationalization.
To be considered, you must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the US without requiring NAFSA’s sponsorship. We welcome students with valid work authorization, including those wishing to complete their experiential learning through their established curricular practical training (CPT), optional practical training (OPT), or academic training eligibility.
Salary Description $17.50/hr for up to 20 hours per week
