Description of role: Our busy law firm is currently seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of Bankruptcy Legal Assistant. The Legal Assistant will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the law firm, including carrying out adminitrative services, providing support to the legal team, answering phones and following up with leads and clients. The ideal candidate for this position has a strong work ethic, exceptional problem solving skills and is comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic workplace.
Tasks:
-Complete administrative duties such as making copies, scanning, answering and directing phone calls and greeting clients
- Coordinate appointments, including all correspondence and logistics necessary
- Draft documents and letters under supervision
- Manage legal documentation and correspondence in strict confidence
- Correspond with counsel, court and clients
- Assist with accounting and billing
- Implement and improve upon administrative processes for more efficient workflow
Skills and requirements:
- Two-year degree or equivalent certification
- 2 years' working experience as a legal assistant
- Experience in bankruptcy, loss mitigation or estates and trusts law preferred, but not required.
-Familiarity with MS Office, Excel, Google Apps
- Ability to type 70 words per minute
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to take direction and work independently with liitle supervision
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
Work schedule: Full time, Monday-Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm

Salary: $15 - $25/hour DOE
