Job Title: Composition Automation Programmer Department: Data Processing
Reports To: VP of Pre Production Services FLSA Status: Exempt
Shift: Hybrid-One day in office required Wage Range: $90,000-$100,000

Job Summary:
Create and standardize processes for the use of the Quadient suite of software. Use personalization setup software to prepare print files for multiple pieces of production equipment. Strong emphasis on attention to detail and timeliness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide Software Support for the Quadient Family of software (Insight, ICM, Scaler and others) used in Customized Direct Marketing Programs.
- Identify areas, either process, training or tools, for improvement in the Composition area of Data Processing (DP) and develop solutions. Collaborate and partner with DP team to create and implement solutions.
- Develop complex personalization letter format setup templates.
- Train DP staff in new and efficient ways to use the current suite of tools.
- Assist in onboarding new clients in the data processing composition area.
- Work with Premedia and DP areas to streamline the workflow and customer assets to allow for efficient letter creation.
- Communicate with software technical support to problem solve software related file processing challenges.
- Support 6S initiatives as required.
- Follow all Safety and Quality policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Skills Abilities Required:
- Strong computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
- Strong math and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Interpersonal Communication Skills.
- Exceptional skills/knowledge in Quadient suite of software.
- Ability to work independently and part of a team.
- Proficiency/fluent with English language, both written and verbal.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, and/or equivalent combination of prior work experience and education in programming or software development.
- 10 years of prior experience in direct mail composition applications is strongly preferred.

This job operates in a hybrid office environment with exposure to a Manufacturing environment on occasion. While performing the duties of this job inside and outside the manufacturing facility/office setting, the employee is frequently exposed to normal to moderate working conditions for a hybrid office and manufacturing facility with a noise level that is usually quiet - moderate with minimal to some interruptions. The role routinely uses office equipment, software and hardware.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, type, write and be exposed to regular meetings, both virtually and in person. The employee may be required to stand/sit for long periods of time as well as use hands or fingers to reach or handle, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is sometimes required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee will regularly lift 25lbs or more at a time. All vision abilities are required to encompass close-up work. Employees must be able to tolerate and endure extended seasonal hours and maintain alertness to meet deadlines.
Occasionally while performing duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to machinery and moving parts, airborne particles including paper dust and hazardous materials or fumes, which may require the use of PPE. The employee may be exposed to adverse weather conditions, extended seasonal hours, high precarious places, and confined spaces. The nose level in some of the work environments may require the use of hearing protection.
