They align team activities with corporate priorities, lead improvement initiatives, and play a key role in recruiting, hiring, and developing talent.
Responsibilities
Partner Liaison
- Provide central point for customer/partner interface with the group
- Interface with other engineering functions and contractor organizations
- Maintain awareness of and alignment with capital and manufacturing plant priorities
- Continually position the group to meet partner needs
- Provide ongoing coaching, development, and address personnel issues promptly
- Understand, develop, and leverage each group member’s strengths while managing workload and staffing levels
- Manage group controllable expenditures and communicate relevant information to group members
- Develop strategic vision and provide leadership for key department and division initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or materials engineering.
- 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on the chemical industry preferred.
- Experience with machinery specification and design methodology including rotating equipment, process utilities equipment, solids handling components/principles, and machine design engineering.
- Familiarity with the capital stage gate process and an understanding of project execution.
- Extensive work experience partnering with external vendors and suppliers.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and standards related to mechanical engineering in the chemical industry.
- Project Management experience
- PE License
- Advanced degree in Engineering or Business
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to propose innovative and practical engineering solutions.
- Experienced advocate of effective change management.
