Job Description :
The Regulatory Services division of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has an exciting opportunity for an International Financial Analyst II. The position analyzes and interprets non-U.S. insurance company financial statements and drafts analysis reports on insurers and reinsurers writing business in the U.S. This full-time hybrid position is based in Kansas City, MO in a positive and flexible environment.
Responsibilities Include
- Interpret and analyze complex non-U.S. insurance filings, assess the financial condition of insurers, and provide recommendations on those that exhibit concerns. Ensure non-U.S. domiciled (re)insurers that write and assume premiums in the U.S. remain in compliance and solvent.
- Review documentation associated with applications and annual renewal filings to ensure minimum standards are met.
- Identify (re)insurers that exhibit trends or other conditions that may lead to financial concerns.
- Identify problems regarding financial applications and work with staff to resolve.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of an RDC-based financial system and design and develop financial analysis dashboards.
- Provide detailed, comprehensive, and professionally written insurer analytical reports that summarize compliance with model regulation and overall financial position.
- Apply company policies and procedures to resolve issues and determine the best course of action.
Management Responsibilities
Minimum Education and / or Experience Required
Typically has a Bachelor's degree with 3-4 years of insurance related experience and / or solvency regulatory experience, either as an analyst or examiner, or equivalent combination of education and experience and has knowledge and experience with property & casualty insurance.
Preferred Experience
Systems & Technology Requirements
Microsoft Office Suite / 365, Slack, Adobe, Access, and proprietary filing software.
Travel
This position does not require regular travel. However, employees must be able and willing to travel to locations throughout the United States and with such frequency as necessary to meet the needs of this position and the Association.
Compensation
70,000 - $82,000, commensurate with education and experience.
