Job Description :
The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has Law Clerk opportunities in the Legal Division. These positions will be responsible for assisting attorneys with general legal research involving state and federal statutes, pending legislation, administrative regulations, regulatory guidance, NAIC proceedings and case law, with a heavy focus on tracking state legislation and updating 50-state charts for publication.Additional legal assignments may develop, such as assistance with legal memoranda, legislative summaries, amicus briefs and other legal work products.
Skills and Abilities :
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Efficient and accurate research skills
- Ability to distill complex concepts into brief summaries
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency with internet-based legal research tools and knowledge of Microsoft Word
Requirements :
Candidates must be a currently enrolled in law school, second- or third-year student preferred.
Schedule :
The position is expected to work 10-15 hours during school semesters with potential for up to 37.5 hours per week during the summer.
Location : Kansas City Office
Compensation : 22.00 per hour.
