Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of a portfolio of multifamily properties, ensuring they run efficiently and meet performance goals
- Lease apartments on prevailing market terms (new leases and renewals), meeting with prospective residents to show properties, receive and process rental applications, and facilitate signing of lease agreements
- Assess market rents based on market data and presents rate opportunities to upper management for approval
- Develop and implement strategies to increase occupancy and reduce vacancies
- Manage tenant relations, including lease renewals, addressing concerns and maintaining high tenant satisfaction
- Supervise property maintenance and repairs to ensure all units and common areas are in top condition
- Monitor rent collection and enforce lease agreements as necessary
- Prepare budgets, track expenses and analyze financial performance of properties
- Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations regarding property management and landlord-tenant relations
- Coordinate and oversee vendor and contractor services
- Proven experience as a Property Manager, specifically in multifamily housing
- Strong knowledge of property management software (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio, or similar platforms)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
- Knowledge of property maintenance and repair practices
- Familiarity with local landlord-tenant laws and regulations
- Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, or a related field is preferred but not required
