What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Law Paralegal position at Najera Law Group APC?
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and affidavits
- Conduct legal research using various resources including Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents
- Prepare correspondence and communicate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in the case
- Schedule appointments, depositions, and court hearings
- Attend trials and take notes on proceedings
- Assist with document review and analysis
- Transcribe dictations and prepare drafts of legal documents
- Perform general clerical duties such as answering phones, filing, and data entry
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or certificate in paralegal studies or related field preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Familiarity with legal research databases such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
