serves as its primary ambassador to all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership and Administration:
- Provide visionary leadership in line with the mission and values of Nalanda Academy.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance student achievement and foster a
positive school culture.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including budget management, staffing, and facilities.
- Ensure compliance with Nalanda Academy's policies and relevant regulations including
communication with OCS and NC DPI.
2. Educational Leadership:
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in teaching and learning.
- Support and empower teachers through professional development, feedback, and coaching.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of all
students.
- Lead efforts to increase student achievement and academic growth.
3. Community Engagement:
- Serve as the primary liaison between the school, families, funders, and the larger
community.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, fostering open communication and
collaboration.
- Represent Nalanda Academy at community events, conferences, and meetings.
4. Student Support and Development:
- Champion the holistic development of students, promoting a passion for learning,
compassion for others, and leadership skills.
- Implement initiatives to support student well-being, social-emotional learning, and character
development.
- Ensure equitable access to resources and opportunities for all students.
Credentials and Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in education (A Master's degree or higher).
- Five or more years of leadership experience at the level of Assistant Principal or higher,
preferably in a charter school setting.
- Five or more years of classroom teaching experience.- Strong understanding of educational best practices and research.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
