Kennel Assistant Job Description
Duties:
- Provide daily care and maintenance for animals in the kennel
- Feed, water, and exercise animals according to their specific needs
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas
- Monitor animal behavior and report any changes or concerns to the staff or doctors
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and behavior
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Previous experience working with animals preferred
- Ability to handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time
Please note that this is a physically demanding role that involves heavy lifting and long periods of standing. The ability to handle animals of various sizes and temperaments is essential. Previous experience working with animals is preferred but not required.
