We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Customer Service Representative to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional support to our clients while ensuring a positive experience for both pets and their owners. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of veterinary terminology and animal care, allowing them to effectively communicate with clients about their pets' needs. We are seeking someone that has completed at least one full year of experience in a customer service role.
Duties
- Respond to client inquiries via phone, email, text messages, and in-person, providing accurate information regarding services offered.
- Assist clients in scheduling appointments and managing their pets' health records.
- Utilize knowledge of veterinary terminology to explain procedures and treatments to pet owners.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well stocked reception area, ensuring a welcoming environment for clients and their pets.
- Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care.
- Handle animals safely and compassionately during visits, demonstrating strong dog handling skills.
- Support the veterinary team with basic tasks related to animal care, including knowledge of nutrition, puppy and kitten recommendations and proper sanitation protocols.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in customer service or a related field is preferred.
- Strong understanding of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to empathize with clients and their pets.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Must be comfortable with handling various dogs and cats of varying sizes.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs, and team-lift up to 130lbs.
- Ability to work on your feet for multiple hours at a time, moving fairly constantly.
- Flexibility to work any of our business hours, including Monday-Friday 7:30am-5:30pm, and Saturdays 7:45am-12:00pm. (Weekends are typically rotated, and we do have to stay past 5:30pm on occasion.)
