JOB OVERVIEW :
The Fire Suppression System Inspector is responsible for conducting scheduled and unscheduled inspections, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire suppression systems, ensuring compliance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, manufacturer specifications, and contract requirements. The inspector will also document findings, coordinate emergency services, and ensure the operational integrity of fire suppression systems across multiple facilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Perform semiannual inspections and maintenance on fixed fire suppression systems, including dry / wet chemical, clean agent, and Halon 1301 systems.Conduct hydrostatic testing, recharging, and pressure verification in accordance with NFPA and manufacturer specifications.Identify and document system deficiencies, impairments, and recommendations for repairs.Coordinate and provide emergency services within three (3) hours of notification for discharged or damaged systems.Work with government personnel to schedule testing, inspections, and maintenance while minimizing operational disruptions.Ensure all inspections are recorded with the appropriate documentation, including service tickets and maintenance logs.Assist in preparing and submitting reports to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) within five (5) days of inspections or maintenance.Maintain compliance with safety regulations (OSHA, AFOSH, and Environmental Protection requirements) and report any incidents to COR.Supervise and direct Inspector Assistants during inspections, testing, and maintenance procedures.Stay updated on NFPA code changes and maintain current certifications and licenses required for fire suppression system inspections.QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS :
High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree in fire safety or mechanical systems preferred.State of Texas Fire Suppression System Inspector License and any other required NFPA certifications.Minimum 3-5 years of experience in fire suppression system inspection, maintenance, and repair.Knowledge of fire protection systems, NFPA standards, and OSHA safety regulations.Strong attention to detail, documentation, and report-writing skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergency situations.Must be able to lift equipment, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.Valid driver's license and ability to pass a government background check.Nalu Federal is an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
