Substitute Teachers are a critical piece to providing the high quality of care we offer to our children. They don't just provide sick day coverage, they help cover classrooms so that teachers can meet with families, observe and connect with other schools, attend conferences, complete additional training, attend school related meetings, and so much more. This position will assist in our Montessori mixed-age classrooms: Toddler, Preschool/K, Elementary (1st-6th grade), and after-school care.
Prior Montessori experience is not required; we will train the right candidate. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess:
- A joyful disposition and love of working with children
- Experience working with young children
- Willingness to learn: Growth Mindset
- Working knowledge of the Montessori method of education is preferred, but not required
- Ability to interact with parents and co-workers in a warm, empathetic, confident manner
- Reliable transportation (we are on the TCAT Route 21 bus route)
- Flexibility and weekly hours will vary depending on your availability and needs in our classroom.
- Room for Growth: We support the career growth of all of our teachers and many of our substitute teachers move into other positions within our school or go on to pursue further training in the field.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.50 - $18.50 per hour
