Position Summary:
The Youth Coordinator for NAMI Charlotte develops and implements NAMI programming to support youth mental health and wellness in our community. This may include NAMI on Campus, Ending the Silence, and Next Gen programming. The Youth Coordinator will work collaboratively with schools, community organizations, and families to provide education, resources, and support for young people affected by mental health challenges.
Duties and Responsibilities
Expand Youth Programming
· Collaborate with NAMI Charlotte Executive Director and Program Coordinator to establish annual goals and strategy for development and expansion of NAMI youth programming
· Oversee development and/or expansion of NAMI youth programming, which may include NAMI on Campus, NAMI Ending the Silence, NAMI Next Gen and other youth programs
· Expand accessibility of youth programming throughout the greater Charlotte-Mecklenburg community
Community Collaboration
· Develop and maintain mutual partnerships and collaborations with local schools and youth service organizations
Outreach and Promotion
· Oversee marketing and outreach of NAMI youth programming to the community
Operational Management
· Manage the day-to-day operation of youth programming, such as communication with partners, scheduling and coordination of volunteers and materials required to carry out youth programming
Volunteer Empowerment
· Successfully recruit and work with volunteers, including young adults and youth, in a supportive and coaching manner
Data and Reporting
· Ensure timely reporting of volunteer hours and program data; maintain accurate records and provide metrics for annual reporting vis-à-vis youth programming
NAMI Liaison
· Maintain subject matter expertise on NAMI youth programming via resources such as TA Calls provided by NAMI National
· Act as liaison between NAMI Charlotte and NAMI NC as well as other NC affiliates on matters pertaining to youth programming
Grant and Funding Support
· Assist in the preparation of grant requests and funding continuation requests pertaining to youth programming
Additional Duties

Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree, youth and child development, social services, social work, psychology, or a related field preferred
· Experience working with youth and knowledge of mental health issues affecting young people.
· Proficiency in software/platforms, including Microsoft Office Suite
· Availability for occasional evening and weekend work, in-state travel, and possession of a valid driver’s license and insurance
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
