Job Description
The Youth Program Coordinator with the Youth and Family Division at NAMI Ohio is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and implementation of the NAMI Youth Program and serves as a representative from NAMI Ohio to the external professional youth mental health community. This position also serves as a liaison between the NAMI Ohio program and its funders. The NAMI Youth Program Coordinator reports to the NAMI Ohio Youth and Family Division Director.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Provide technical support to local NAMI affiliate programs on NAMI youth and young adult programs, NAMI Next Gen, NAMI on Campus, NAMI on High School, and NAMI Ending the Silence program and other youth programs
· Ensure the NAMI Ohio YouthMOVE program is a youth-run program devoted to improving services and systems that support growth and development by uniting the voices of youth who have lived experience in various systems including mental health, juvenile justice, education, and child welfare.
· Oversee and coordinate the NAMI Ohio Youth Advisory Council
· Prepare or assists in the preparation of grant requests and funding continuation requests
· Monitor and approve program expenditures and maintain records pertaining to program activities
· Write and maintain current program operational policies and procedures for key programmatic activities
· Supervise any approved program staff, volunteers and/or contractors associated with the program
· Train program participants, staff, volunteers and/or contractors associated with the program
· Schedule program work, oversee daily operations, coordinate activities of the program and set priorities for managing the program
· Collect and report data
· Marketing and outreach to the community
· Maintain subject matter expertise on topics associated with the program
· Maintain a thorough knowledge of applicable state rules and regulations and stay up to date with any legislative changes that can affect the operation of the program or those served by the program
· Develop and maintain mutual partnerships and collaborations within the statewide community
· Collaborate across other NAMI departments as well as with affiliates to further the reach of youth programming
· Attend trainings and present at trainings/conferences as requested
· Successfully recruit and work with youth in a supportive and coaching manner

Minimum Qualifications
· At least 5 years of experience in a related field
· Bachelor’s degree, youth and child development, social services, social work, psychology, or a related field
· Possess experience in youth engagement, youth leadership, and youth advocacy in youth-serving systems and/or, youth peer support program development and implementation, and delivering training and providing technical assistance.
· High level of competency in software/platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
· Model curiosity, flexibility, integrity and commitment to the NAMI mission, vision and values
· Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends, in-state travel, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
