Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Manages the school in accordance with federal and state law, administrative rules, and Board policy.
- Initiate, design, and implement programs to meet the specific needs of the school.
- Exercises leadership in school-level planning for improvement of instruction
- Establishes and maintain an effective learning climate in the school.
- Coordinates transportation and other support services.
- Communicates information to parents and the community.
- Act as a liaison between the school and the community (including all ethnic groups), interpreting activities and policies of the school, and encouraging community participation in school life.
- Reports incidents of discipline resulting in a suspension from school, as well as all incidents of violence, vandalism, substance abuse, and weapons possession.
- Works cooperatively with law enforcement authorities in maintaining a safe and drug-free school environment.
- Plan, schedule, and supervise fire and other emergency drills and an emergency preparedness program as required by federal and state law, administrative rules, and Board policy.
- Greet and interact with students, parents, and visitors.
- Supervision of the campus.
- Monitoring students in the community while they are leaving to learn on such opportunities like internships, job shadows, and interviews.
- Recruiting, screening, hiring, training, assigning, and evaluating of the school’s personnel.
- Supervising professional, paraprofessional, administrative, and non-professional personnel and teacher trainees.
- Assign faculty members to assist at school functions.
- Coordination and supervision of special programs funded by the state or federal government.
- Make recommendations to Director of Secondary Education in changes in policies, personnel practices, and other matters that may result in a more effective school administration.
- Adapts his or her leadership behavior to the needs of the current situation and is comfortable with dissent.
- Establishes clear goals and keeps those goals in the forefront of the school’s attention.
- Ensures faculty and staff are aware of the most current theories and practices and makes the discussion of these a regular aspect of the school’s culture.
- Is directly involved in the design and implementation of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices.
- Ensues that the appropriate integration of technology is taking place, including researching gaggle alerts.
- Supervising the school’s educational program and teaching process and monitor delivery of the instructional program
- Overseeing the scheduling of students into classes, establishing the schedule of class offerings, and maintaining a balance of student loads in each class
- Plan, organize, supervise, and evaluate all curricular, extracurricular activities, and program assemblies.
- Supervise the dismissal of students at the end of the school day.
- Maintain high standards of student conduct and enforce the district’s discipline policies in accordance with the students' rights to due process, keep records of any disciplinary action, and perform follow-up communication with students’ parents, teachers, and other administrators as needed.
- Developing and implementing student handbooks and procedures for proper student conduct.
- Planning and delivery of intervention and referral services for students who are having difficulty in their classes.
- Provide guidance to individual students and resolve individual behavioral problems.
- Schedule parent/teacher conferences, exhibition events, and special conferences, as needed.
- Assume responsibility for the reporting and monitoring of student attendance, conduct, health of the students, and home visits when necessary.
- Assures the proper collection, safekeeping, and accounting of school activity funds and technology equipment.
- Development of the annual budget
- Supervise the preparation of school reports, records, and other paperwork for the district office, as directed.
- Participate in administrative, Board, and other meetings as required or appropriate.
- Keep appropriate personnel informed of the school’s activities, needs, and any issues that may arise.
- Responsible for the inventories of property under school jurisdiction and for the security of that property.
- Works with appropriate personnel to ensure the safety and administration of the school building and grounds
- Responsible for the requisition of supplies, textbooks, and equipment
- Assume responsibility for his or her continuing professional growth and development by such efforts as attendance at professional meetings, membership in professional organizations, enrollment in advanced courses, and by reading professional journals and other publications.

Education And Or Experience
- Valid Idaho administrative license, or ability to attain one prior to employment start date.
- Master’s degree in educational administration required.
- Previous Administrative experience preferred.
- Experience in Big Picture preferred and/or required attendance for Big Picture Training
- Strong background in teaching required.
- Works well with students, staff, and the public.
