Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Dishwasher to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in our kitchen environment, ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment are thoroughly cleaned and ready for use. This position is vital to the overall efficiency of our food service operations within a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality setting.
Duties
- Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down surfaces, and disposing of trash.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including washing vegetables and preparing ingredients for cooks.
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained according to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Support bussing staff by assisting in clearing tables and returning used items to the kitchen for cleaning.
- Adhere to all food safety guidelines and protocols while handling kitchen items.
Experience
- Previous experience in a hospitality or food service environment is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with kitchen operations in restaurants or hotels is a plus.
- A strong work ethic with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of culinary terms and practices is advantageous.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
