System Administrator II

Akima Data Management is currently seeking System Administrator to join the team and his responsibilities will include but not limited to the following :

Responsibilities

Administers, develops, runs tests, implements, and maintains operating system and related software.

Establishes and implements standards for computer operations for compatibility between hardware and software, according to specifications and parameters.

Troubleshoots and resolves software, operating system, and networking problems.

Schedules, performs, and monitors system backups and performs data recoveries.

Recommends hardware and software upgrades according to growth statistics and disk space forecasts.

Configures hardware, such as workstations, printers, servers, and tape devices.

Provides technical support for system users.

Performs work under general supervision.

Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

Qualifications

An active DoD Secret clearance is required for consideration.

Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Telecommunications, or Management Information Systems preferred, and have 3 years of documented experience relevant to this position. Alternatively, have 6 years of documented experience relevant to this position.

Demonstrate 3 years of experience in producing, managing, and maintaining network architectural drawings and schematic diagrams.

Demonstrate 3 years of experience providing installation support for network applications.

Demonstrate 3 years of experience performing network monitoring of the network to include all assets.

Demonstrate 3 years of experience providing technical support, advice and troubleshooting for utility network operations with a 99.999% target network uptime.

Demonstrate 3 years of experience producing documentation for use in configuration, repair and troubleshooting of hardware, software and network operating systems.

Demonstrate 3 years working with TCP / IP in Software Defined Network (SDN) design.

Demonstrate 3 years of experience troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management.

Demonstrate 3 years of experience installing and configuring network equipment.

Desired Qualifications :

• DoD 8570 IAT Level III Certification preferred.
