Are you a passionate educator with a flair for executive functioning coaching? Do you have experience helping driven students develop the skills to succeed in demanding environments? We’re looking for a full-time Academic Coach and Advisor to work with a dynamic teenager who is committed to excelling in high school. This is a unique opportunity to create a lasting impact in a supportive, family-oriented environment.

Position Overview :

In this newly created role, you will provide both coaching and academic support to a motivated high school student. You’ll guide her through her rigorous schedule, helping her manage her time, stay organized, and develop sustainable study habits. Your approach will be creative, proactive, and supportive, ensuring she stays on track while also fostering independence and resilience.

The ideal candidate will be a highly experienced educator with a background in working with students who need extra support with executive functioning, including ADHD. You may collaborate closely with other tutors and act as a mentor to ensure academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities :

• Executive Functioning Coaching : Help the student strengthen executive skills such as time management, organization, and prioritization.
• Empowerment through Problem-Solving : Guide her to solve problems independently rather than giving temporary solutions.
• Academic Support : Assist with homework, projects, and AP-level subjects, collaborating with other tutors as needed.
• Holistic Approach : Ensure she maintains a balanced life by encouraging exercise, nourishing meals, and healthy breaks.
• Motivation and Accountability : Keep her on track with assignments and deadlines, while maintaining an open, positive rapport.
• Life Skills : Teach lifelong habits that will benefit her in high school, college, and beyond.
• Special Projects : Support her with various school projects and creative milestones.

Schedule & Location :

• Hours : Sunday to Thursday, 5pm to 11 pm
• Location : Onsite in Atherton for the first few months, with the possibility of 1-2 days remote once a rhythm is established.

Qualifications :

• Education : Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience : Minimum of 5 years teaching or coaching experience, with a proven track record of working 1 : 1 with motivated teens.
• Specialization : Experience with ADHD students is a big plus.
• References : Stellar, verifiable references required.
• Commitment : This role requires a 2.5-year commitment to ensure continuity and growth.
