- Strategy, Development, Management
- Develop plans, processes, and procedures for the execution of maintenance expenses, capital expenditures, and preventative maintenance programs across all restaurants
- Consistently reevaluate existing processes, procedures, and programs to streamline for cost savings and other efficiencies
- Regularly meet and work with regional teams, county and local AHJs, Nando's legal team, landlords, and/or other stakeholders to navigate and resolve issues with leases, contracts, or restaurant premises
- Develop budgets, policies, and procedures to support department goals and restaurant operations
- Measure and report on current performance against stated company/department goals for each budget area and ensure appropriate benchmarks are being set
- Oversee continuous improvement of our CMMS system to streamline use and expand reporting capabilities
- Provide aggregate reporting to monitor spend trends, outliers, and performance of company R&M/capital/preventative maintenance
- Collaborate with Operations and other cross-functional partners to ensure that all restaurant premises and equipment are safe and high-functioning for restaurant employees and guests
- Build and strengthen relationships with external vendors and suppliers to support the needs of the Department and Operations teams
- Work closely with regional team to ensure adequate support material, such as use and care, is provided to the internal training team for all Property related items
- Lead and develop internal team to overcome obstacles, build strong project management systems/ skills, and develop innovative approaches to problem solving.
- Contract and Project Management
- Negotiate and direct multiple PM contracts across the portfolio, including but not limited to grease traps, HVAC, refrigeration, Ansul, fire alarms, security, hot side cooking, water jetting, sprinkler systems, pest control, patios, elevators, PCU's, high dusting, lighting, window cleaning, and ice machines
- Negotiate and direct service level agreements, work order management, vendor management, asset management, quality assurance, and department budgeting
- Build project scope briefs, solicit bids, negotiate, schedule, and implement approved company-wide systems improvements
- Review monthly financials for overall portfolio to confirm proper booking of invoices and drive resolution of any billing discrepancies
- Direct KEC providers on warranty management, including weekly meetings to capture unwarranted invoices from vendors
- To identify compliance servicing and testing requirements and implement systems to ensure estate-wide compliance.
- Restaurant Maintenance & Capital Expenditures
- Build and implement annual restaurant assessment checks
- Coach restaurant leaders on best practices and proper use and care of equipment
- Support construction team during new restaurant walk-throughs, including rough-in, design, and punch walks for handover of locations
- Track existing assets within the portfolio to support life cycle costing, repair v. replace, and design-related issues
- Partner with the Operations team to ensure daily and deep cleaning SOP's extend the life of the asset, improve cleanliness, and reduce downtime and lifecycle costs.
- Formulate specifications for small-works or asset roll-out CapEx projects. Obtain competitive quotations, manage approved projects and review site work to ensure high quality standards are achieved.
- Manage removal, organization, assessment and repair of patios/ seasonal FF&E
- Oversee annual asset aging assessments and replacement budgets, identifying causes for longer ROI's related to original CapEx and Facilities-related burdens on stores' P&L

Requirements:- Prefer candidates local to the DMV area
- 6 years' maintenance or facilities experience including budgeting and contract/vendor management
- Facilities Manager experience within the foodservice industry, experience with a multi-state employer preferred
- Technical proficiency with restaurant equipment and premises to support issue-spotting of potential maintenance and compliance concerns
- Experience in MEP (mechanical/HVAC, electrical, and plumbing), as well as refrigeration and ventilation
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record, with reliable access to transportation
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Ability to work flexible hours, including an on-call schedule for possible nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to commute between multiple restaurant locations and the corporate headquarters for 75-100% of the time within a given day
