DETAILS:
Location: Bellevue, WA (Lakemont neighborhood)
Ideal Start Date: Mid January 2025 (families prefer January 6, 2025)
Schedule: Monday/Tuesday/Thursday from 3:30pm - 8:30pm. Wednesday from 1:30pm - 8:30pm. Friday from 3:30pm - 8:00pm
Children: 6 year old and 8 year old
Compensation: $29-$34/hr DOE plus 26 guaranteed hours/week, two weeks paid time off, accrued paid sick time, paid federal holidays and mileage reimbursement. Prefer legal pay with taxes withheld.
Family is seeking a long term nanny that is interested in working several years with them.

The Family:
This busy and active family is looking for a patient, kind and responsible family assistant/nanny to help with their two children beginning early January 2025. Ideal candidate has at least two to five years experience caring for energetic, school aged children in a similar age range. Family needs provider to pick children up from school in the afternoon and transport to after school activities. Both children attend the same school. When children are at school, nanny will help family with household assistant tasks including laundry, dishes, school lunch prep for the next day, dog walking, etc. Children love reading, creative play, arts and crafts, sports and biking. When caring for the children, family is looking for a nanny that emphasizes both play and learning/experiences. Family is looking for the nanny to be part of their family and is welcome to eat dinner with them on weekday evenings (not required). Family has a dog. No special needs or allergies.
The Job Description:
The nanny will be responsible for ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for their children during the day. In addition to general child care, job duties will include:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of both children at all times
- Encourage communication and language skills through reading, storytelling, and conversations
- Transport the children safely from school to after school activities
- Help the children with personal hygiene tasks (bathing, teeth brushing, etc.) in preparation for bedtime
- Organize and supervise playdates with peers to promote social skills and interactions
- Prepare and provide meals/snacks for the children, accommodating dietary preferences or restrictions
- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive development, such as arts and crafts, outdoor play, and educational games
- Help with light child-related chores including child laundry, organizing toys, school lunch prep, etc.
- Daily tidying of spaces used throughout the day so that the home is returned to its original condition at the day’s end
- Housekeeping duties (family laundry, washing dishes, loading/unloading dishwasher, tidying, taking the garbage out and walking the dog) when children are at school. No deep cleaning/organization required.
Note: This position is approximately 60% nanny duties/40% household assistant duties.
Nanny Attributes/Qualifications/Requirements:
Their ideal nanny/family assistant has a minimum of two to five years of experience caring for school age children plus household assistant experience and is reliable, nurturing, and engaging. Candidate should be interested in a long term position with the family. A background or interest in child development would be a bonus, but not required. The nanny should be up to date on all vaccinations, including annual influenza and Covid. They should be current with their Child CPR/First Aid Certification (or willing to update). At least three childcare related references required. The nanny should have a valid Driver’s License, a clean driving record, and a reliable vehicle for use on the job. Family will provide carseats.
