Part Time Nanny/Household Assistant Needed in Kirkland/Bellevue
DETAILS:
Location: Downtown Bellevue, WA and North Rose Hill neighborhood of Kirkland, WA
Ideal Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: Monday through Friday from 3:30pm to 7:30pm
Child: 8 year old
Compensation: $30-$35/hr DOE plus 20 guaranteed hours/week, paid time off, accrued paid sick time, and mileage reimbursement. Prefer legal pay with taxes withheld.

The Family:
Split family (mother lives in Kirkland and father lives in Bellevue) are looking for an energetic and patient nanny/household assistant to help with their 8 year old boy beginning as soon as possible. Ideal candidate has at least 5 years experience caring for energetic, school aged children in a similar age range and is comfortable with light household assistant tasks. Family needs provider to help pick child up from school in the afternoon and transport to after school activities and provide childcare. When child is attending after school activities, nanny will help family with household assistant tasks including laundry, dishes, meal prep, etc. Child loves to build Legos, work on craft projects, play soccer and practice kung-fu. When caring for the child, family is looking for a nanny that emphasizes both play and learning/experiences. Care will alternate between mother and father’s houses on a regular schedule. No special needs or allergies.
The Job Description:
The nanny will be responsible for ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for their child during the day. In addition to general child care, job duties will include:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the child at all times
- Encourage communication and language skills through reading, storytelling, and conversations
- Transport the child safely from school to after school activities
- Supervise playdates with peers to promote social skills and interactions
- Prepare and provide meals/snacks for the child, accommodating dietary preferences or restrictions
- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive development, such as arts and crafts, outdoor play, and educational games
- Help with light child-related chores including child laundry, organizing toys, school lunch prep, etc.
- Daily tidying of spaces used throughout the day so that the home is returned to its original condition at the day’s end
- Light housekeeping duties when the child is occupied (family laundry, loading/unloading dishwasher, meal prep and some cooking, light grocery shopping, handling returns, tidying, taking the garbage out, etc) when child is at after school activities. No deep cleaning required.
Note: This position is approximately 75% nanny/25% household assistant.
Nanny Attributes/Qualifications/Requirements:
Their ideal nanny/household assistant has a minimum of 5 years of experience caring for elementary school age children plus some household assistant experience and is reliable, nurturing, and engaging. Candidate should be mature, well-balanced, and have excellent communication skills, be able to surface any issues/concerns and give and take feedback. Candidate should be interested in a potential long term position with the family. A background or interest in child development would be a bonus, but not required. The nanny should be up to date on all vaccinations, including annual influenza and Covid. They should be current with their Child CPR/First Aid Certification (or willing to update). At least three childcare related references required. The nanny should have a valid Driver’s License, a clean driving record, and a reliable vehicle for use on the job.
