Babysitter/Nanny

Job Overview

We are looking for a well experienced caregiver for our children in Culver. We could be flexible in what days/hours but we are looking for 10-30 hours of childcare per week. Care will mainly be for our one year old but occasionally we would need our twin 7 year olds to be watched as well. Our preferred times would be 10am-3pm Mon-Friday. It’s okay if you couldn’t do all 5 days, doing just a few of the days could work as well.

Our family loves being active and we enjoy hiking, biking, being down at the lake wakesurfing on our boat this summer, etc. We are looking for someone who has previous experience with children and will be extremely trustworthy. We will be doing a background check and calling at least 3 references. We look forward to hearing from you!

Duties

• Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times.
• Plan and engage in age-appropriate activities, including educational games, arts and crafts, and outdoor play.
• Provide basic caregiving tasks such as feeding, diaper changing, and assisting with personal hygiene.
• Support children's development through educational activities and playtime.
• Cook nutritious meals and snacks for children as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment in accordance with childcare standards.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress, behavior, and any concerns.
• Assist children with homework or educational tasks when applicable.
• Provide care for children with disabilities or special needs as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience in caregiving, babysitting, or working in daycare settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of child development principles and practices is essential.
• Ability to provide care for preschool-aged children and toddlers effectively.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with children and parents alike.
• Patience, creativity, and the ability to adapt to various situations are crucial for success in this role.
• A genuine love for educating and nurturing young minds.
• Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate parents' needs.
