Job Title: Inventory and Purchasing Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to fill the dual role of Inventory and Purchasing Manager at our nutraceutical manufacturing company. This position is responsible for overseeing inventory management and procurement activities to ensure smooth operations, cost efficiency, and adherence to production timelines. The ideal candidate will have experience in supply chain management, inventory control, and vendor relations within a manufacturing or nutraceutical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
- Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Monitor stock levels and forecast inventory needs based on production schedules and sales forecasts.
- Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and finished goods.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions in the company’s ERP or inventory management system.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for inventory management, such as turnover rates and obsolescence.
Purchasing Management:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies to secure high-quality materials and services at competitive prices.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to establish cost-effective and reliable vendor relationships.
- Manage purchase orders, contracts, and delivery schedules to ensure timely procurement of materials.
- Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and material availability to mitigate risks and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards in purchasing activities.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure that all materials meet required specifications.
- Manage vendor relationships and resolve issues related to pricing, quality, or delivery.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory management and purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing or nutraceutical environment.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to forecast and plan effectively.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards in the nutraceutical industry is a plus.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively under pressure.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Work Environment:
- Office and manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to production areas.
- May require occasional lifting of materials or equipment up to 50 pounds.
