Position Summary:
The Land Maintenance Assistant performs all land maintenance and improvement tasks under the direction and guidance of the Land Maintenance Manager. These tasks include but are not limited to mowing, fencing installation and maintenance, parking lot maintenance, road repair, brush cutting, and debris or trash removal. The Land Maintenance Assistant supports other Land Management team members like the Land Use Manager and Land Steward and Facility Maintenance Technician with tasks and projects when needed and approved by the Land Maintenance Manager. They also interface with the Ecology and Development Departments when necessary and approved by the Land Maintenance Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
Dates/Hours: This is a full-time, year-round position beginning in early-mid April 2025; exact dates are somewhat flexible. Hours are 40 hours a week Monday through Friday, with daily hours 8am - 4pm. There may be times when hours vary depending on particular projects or responsibilities. Weekend work will be required for certain non-profit events.
Requirements
Required Qualifications: Prior experience doing landscaping or property management work. Ability to do manual labor for full 8-hour days. Experience or an interest in learning to operate heavy equipment and acquiring appropriate certifications and licensing. Ability to work independently as well as with others on tasks and projects.A valid driver's license is required, and the candidate must be comfortable in driving all kinds of vehicles, from light pickup trucks to mid-size dump trucks during work hours. Willingness to drive towing a trailer is also required.
Desired Qualifications: Interest in pursuing additional training/education that is recommended by the Land Maintenance Manager. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and record keeping.

Benefits
Salary commensurate with experience and ranges from $55,000-$65,000 based on prior experience and qualifications. Housing is provided in shared, employee house -wage is negotiable if housing is not needed. Work-related transportation is provided during working hours. - Provides input to the Land Maintenance Manager and Director of Land Management for the development of an annual Project Management plan
- Performs maintenance tasks as assigned by the Land Maintenance Manager and Director of Land Management. Maintenance tasks include but are not limited to: field mowing, brush cutting, lawn care, bush trimming, trash and debris removal, logo post installation, fencing installation, sign posting, trail cutting, road repair, tree removal, wood chipping, minor building repairs and minor equipment and vehicle repairs)
- Troubleshoots for and reports other maintenance issues that should be tended to when performing scheduled or unscheduled maintenance on any property or facility
- Keeps equipment and vehicles clean and well maintained
- Patrols and monitors use of properties by visitors
