TITLE: Elementary Library Teacher (Grades 3-5)
REPORTS TO: Principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Follows the Nantucket Teachers Association Collective Bargaining Agreement, including contract year dates and stipulations.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Elementary Library Teacher fosters a love of reading and lifelong learning by providing students with access to a diverse collection of literature and digital resources. This role supports literacy development, research skills, and digital citizenship while collaborating with educators to integrate library resources into the curriculum. The Library Teacher creates a welcoming and inclusive library environment, ensuring equitable access to materials that support students' academic and personal growth.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Master’s degree in Library/Information Science, Education, or a related field.
2.Valid Massachusetts teacher certification as a Library Teacher or equivalent.
3.Experience working with elementary-age students, preferably in a school library setting.
4.Strong instructional skills in literacy, research, and technology integration.
5.Excellent communication and collaboration skills to support students, staff, and families.
6.Proficiency in library management systems and educational technology tools.
7.Ability to create an inclusive and culturally responsive library environment.
Salary : $77,425 - $130,688
