MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BA or BS with coursework in TESOL, Linguistics or a related field MA certification Strong literacy background required OBJECTIVE: The ESL teacher provides instruction in English as a Second Language to English Learners for the purpose of developing academic English to thrive in core content subjects.RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides ESL instruction to English Learners in accordance with the WIDA standards and Massachusetts State Frameworks Plans effective ESL units of study and delivers well-planned lessons, daily, to engage studentsDemonstrates cultural proficiency and uses effective culturally relevant instructional practicesDemonstrates effective classroom management techniques, behavioral interventions, and communication Collaborates and communicates with SEI content teachers, upon requestAdministers the ACCESS test annuallyAttends MTSS meetings involving English LearnersUnderstands and complies with the upkeep of all records related to state policies, rules, and regulations regarding English LearnersServes on building or district committeesPerforms other job-related duties as assigned
