TITLE: School Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor, Gr. 6-8JOB DESCRIPTION: Nantucket Public Schools seeks a licensed social worker/adjustment counselor with a strong understanding of behavioral interventions, trauma informed practice, and ability to provide individual and group behavioral services to students in grades 6-8 with social, emotional and/or behavioral needs.The school social worker/adjustment counselor provides clinical therapy and specialized mental health intervention services to individuals, groups (and families) and provides consultation and interventions regarding home and community factors which may impinge upon a students school functioning. Additionally, the school social worker/adjustment counselor serves as the school's liaison with local agencies as well as collaborates with the school based SEL team and district behavioral health team.The school social worker/adjustment counselor supports DESSA administration and staff in data analysis. The school social worker/adjustment counselor manages and delivers clinical support to all students on IEPs requiring counseling; attends IEP meetings and writes goals/objectives for SE competencies.
