The LKQ Security team is both global and virtual, with overall responsibility for ensuring the effectiveness of the company’s I.T. security defenses. LKQ’s security program deploys, enhances, and maintains a variety of tools and processes to reduce our exposures to cyberattacks, data compromise, and malicious insider actions.
An intern with LKQ Corporation will be responsible for supporting the security team by performing a wide range of duties related to this specific function of LKQ, including but not limited to application security and identity and access management (IAM).
Essential Job Duties:
- Seek to understand the overall concept of the company, including the brand, customers, products, and services.
- Accept designated, business-focused projects to research, propose ideas and solutions, and presents a final project during the internship.
- Conduct established activities and any added responsibilities which are mutually agreed upon by the intern and site supervisor.
- Report/present findings to other team members and management as needed.
- Maintain documentation and/or records.
- Provide ongoing support as needed.
- Assume other duties as assigned.
May Perform Additional Duties as Assigned for IT Security:
- Acts as a resource within the Application Security and Identity/Access Management team.
- Drives process improvement.
- Supports LKQ Technologies
- Fulfills access requests for varied security systems.
- Learns key features of IT/Security tools and may add expertise in various technical specialties (networking, software development, operating systems, etc.).
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Not responsible for supervising employees.
