About the Role
This challenging yet rewarding position involves assessing and developing treatment plans for pediatric patients with various diagnoses that impact speech production, receptive language, expressive language, social-pragmatic skills, and feeding/swallowing skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive assessments to identify primary impairments and determine treatment plans
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address client limitations and enhance functional communication skills
- Collaborate with patients, families, and caregivers to train and provide strategies for improving communication in all environments
- Utilize multiple frames of reference to inform practice, including neurodevelopmental, developmental biomechanical, sensory integration, motor learning, cognitive, and rehabilitation perspectives
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Master of Arts or Applied Science in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or equivalent from an accredited university
- Experience working with pediatric patients and exposure to individuals with complex disabilities
- CPR and First Aid certificates
- The ability to communicate confidently and effectively with clients and medical professionals
- Strong documentation and reporting skills
