GENERAL INFORMATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Working within a team of professionals, the Early Childhood Special Education teacher is responsible for leading the team in the development and implementation of either Individualized Family Service Plans and/or Individualized Education Plans. At the infant level, the teachers work within a team to provide home visits to families, supervision with Early Intervention Assistants and coordination and collaboration with the local Regional Center. At the preschool level, teachers are responsible for operating and being the lead for classroom integrated therapy approaches, collaborating on lesson plans with integrated therapy team, designing age-appropriate classroom environments and providing special education consult services to community preschools. The teacher is also part of the intake team and is responsible for case management responsibilities. The Napa County Office of Education (NCOE) is a public agency that provides academic services and enrichment opportunities for students, teachers and the community, as well as critical business services for school districts. NCOE partners with the five public school districts in Napa County on a variety of programs and issues. NCOE also operates numerous federal and state grants including a robust AmeriCorps program and state-wide projects supporting Special Education students. QUALIFICATIONS:
• This position requires an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher Credential and it is preferred to have a
Master’s Degree.
• Requires two years teaching in the field of ECSE or child development.
• Requires a working knowledge of personal computer and multimedia equipment operations including common
office productivity software, internet, and computer-aided teaching programs.
• Requires well-developed oral communications skills to convey concepts to a variety of people and an essential
element is to work cooperatively with a diverse population of children and parents.
• Requires Experience with integrated therapy and successful parent coaching/collaboration.
