The Position

Napa County is seeking to fill one full time vacancy for the position of Health and Human Services Aide to join the Operations Facilities Team of the Health and Human Services Agency. This position plays a critical role in supporting the operational needs of HHSA staff and making our campus welcoming to the public we serve.

This position provides a broad range of facility and building support across HHSA including the reconfiguration and relocation of workstations throughout the agency’s South Campus as well as our satellite offices. The ideal candidate possesses technical skills in operating a personal computer to coordinate and manage the conference center reservations and oversee the agency meeting rooms and cafeteria reservations. The ideal candidate will have knowledge troubleshooting the conference center audio video system equipment and help provide facilities support maintaining the comfort level of the agency meeting rooms.

This position will support the driving and operating the new HHSA Be Well Outreach mobile services vehicle. This position will assist other HHSA divisions with set up and teardown for afterhours community outreach events and support transitions in space use setup for contracted vendors. The position will assist with providing coverage for breaks/lunch for the clerical support staff. This role will work closely with other HHSA divisions as well as other County Department’s such as Public Works and ITS.

Other duties include the set up and tear down conference center rooms before and after each onsite meeting or event; handle large, bulk, and or heavy packages in receiving for on-site and off-site locations, contractor’s on-site pallet deliveries; assist with the surplus process; and assist with clearing out storage; and other future projects.

There is currently one regular full-time vacancy. The list established by this recruitment may be used to fill future full-time, part-time, limited term, and extra help vacancies up to one year.

Position Requirements

Experience and Education:

Experience

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:

Six months of experience in carpentry or maintenance work.

Education

Completion of formal or informal education sufficient to assure the ability to read and write at the level required for successful job performance.

License or Certificate:*

Possession of a valid California Driver's License.

  • Any license, certification, registration, or appointment required for this position shall be maintained (i.e., active and in good standing) at all times during employment with Napa County. For continued employment with Napa County, you must maintain such license, certification, or registration to meet the minimum qualifications of this position.

Special Requirements

Independent Travel: Incumbents are required to travel independently, for example, to perform work at other work sites, to attend meetings with other County employees, to attend meetings with community organizations, etc.

Hours of Work: Incumbents may be required to work weekends, holidays, irregular hours, on-call, and after normal business hours.

Only the most qualified candidates from the oral panel exam will be placed on the eligibility list and may be considered to fill positions for up to one year.

SALARY -

Salaries are based on a five-step range. Appointments are usually made at the beginning step with advances occurring at six months and the completion of each year thereafter. Salary rates are reviewed annually.
