What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate position at NAPA TRANSPORTATION, INC.?
Role:
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards set by NAPA Transportation, Inc. This role involves operating equipment, handling shipments, and maintaining a clean and secure facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and efficiently.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance.
- Shipping & Receiving:
- Unload inbound shipments promptly, verifying Bill of Lading (BOL) accuracy.
- Load outbound shipments correctly, ensuring proper placement on assigned trailers.
- Verify that drivers have set air brakes and chocked wheels before entering trailers.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing seat belts and avoiding distractions while operating machinery.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory procedures at all times.
- Facility Security & Maintenance:
- Secure the warehouse at closing by locking doors, setting the security alarm, turning off internal lights, and ensuring external lights are on.
- Maintain cleanliness in breakrooms, bathrooms, and refrigerators.
- Perform general housekeeping tasks per the Richmond Warehouse Operations Daily/Weekly/Monthly Expectations Sign-off.
- Administrative Support (as needed):
- Perform JD Edwards transactions for shipping and receiving.
- Maintain daily transaction spreadsheets, file activity records, and scan receipts into TMW.
- Assist with additional administrative tasks in the absence of the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Actively demonstrate and promote actions and behaviors that align with NAPA Core Values.
- Perform other responsibilities ad determined by business needs.
